![]() The other available model costs $1,029 and includes the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD, but drops you down to a Core i5-7200U CPU. The $1,129 Miix 720 we tested packs a Core i7-7500U CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD. Check out our Best and Worst Laptop Brands competition and Tech Support Showdown to see how Lenovo stacks up. The Miix 720 comes with a one-year warranty that doesn't transfer along with resale. ![]() Our sister site Tom's Guide gave that service a 7 out of 10 review, and recommends you use LastPass (9/10) instead. ![]() Lenovo also placed a license-free version (that anyone could download) of the freemium Keeper password manager in the Miix 720. You might be a Sling TV customer already, but nobody needs that app preloaded. The rear-mounted device did a better job capturing larger details like my forehead wrinkles but lost my stubble. Sure, the 5-megapixel sensor on the back produces crisper images than the 0.9-MP front cam, but photos I shot with that camera suffered from overexposure and muted colors. The Miix 720 gives you two cameras, but neither is great for photography. That falls short of the 8:04 ultraportable category average, as well nearly 2 hours short of the Surface Pro's time (7:30). The Miix 720 lasted only 5 hours and 37 minutes on the Laptop Mag Battery Test (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi). The Spectre x360, which also has Intel HD Graphics 620, managed to score 70,494, while the Surface Pro (Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640) notched an impressive 109,678Īs portable as the Mixx is, it can't last long without being plugged in. That's far below the 75,438 category average. I don't expect the Mixx's integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 chip to run Tekken 7, but I did expect a lot better than its disappointing score of 49,088 on the 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited graphics test. I saw no slowdown after splitting its screen between a 1080p YouTube video and 12 Chrome tabs (including for TweetDeck, Google Docs and Slack), with the 4K Tears of Steel clip open in the background. The Movies and Gaming options distorted vocals from a variety of songs.Īrmed with an Intel Core i7-7500U CPU and 8GB of RAM, the Miix 720 can handle multitasking with aplomb. Listening to DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts," I noticed that while Rihanna's lyrics and the track's electric guitars came through accurately, bass and drum and cymbals sounded weak and muffled.įor the best listening experience, I recommend keeping the preinstalled Dolby Audio sound utility on the Music setting, which is the most well-balanced option available. The Miix 720's speakers filled our medium-sized conference room with passable audio. It also correctly recognized three-finger app-switching gestures. On the plus side, the keyboard's 3.5 x 2.3 inch touchpad is incredibly smooth and accurately tracks input. ![]() Lenovo should be commended for including the keyboard Microsoft makes you pay $159 for the honor with the Surface Pro. The Surface Pro, XPS 13 and Spectre x360 do not present confusing keyboard layouts. Constantly moving my cursor up a line or to the start of a text field, I wasted time failing to accurately type in passwords and correctly spell words. Unfortunately, the Miix 720's shrunken right shift key and oversized up button drove me batty while I was testing it. While the Mixx 720's keys offer a mere 1.1 millimeters of travel (we look for between 1.5 and 2.0 mm), the 69 grams of actuation force (we expect at least 60g) helps make up for their shallowness. When I tested the keyboard out on the typing test, I hit a rate of 75 words per minute, pretty close to my 80-wpm average. Most detachable keyboards are terrible, but the Mixx 720's detachable keyboard breaks from tradition, offering a comfortable typing experience (albeit one that comes with a minor learning curve). The tablet's display also consistently recognized Windows 10's navigational edge-swipe gestures. ![]() The Miix 720's touch screen tracked my input without any latency, even when I moved my fingers as fast as possible. While the panel is a little glossy, it offers wide viewing angles, with colors staying true 45 degrees to the left and right. According to our colorimeter, the Miix 720 produces 130 percent of the sRGB spectrum, which is slightly below the reading from the Surface Pro (140 percent) and better than those from the Spectre x360 (102 percent) and XPS 13 (94 percent).Įmitting up to 361 nits, the Miix 720's panel is brighter than the 258-nit category average, the 302-nit XPS 13 and the 318-nit Spectre x360, but dimmer than the 396-nit Surface Pro. ![]() ![]() ![]() Women may be wise to be more concerned with potential failure there is some evidence that women’s failures are remembered longer than men’s. Notably, only 13% of men cited not wanting to try and fail as their top reason. When those women know others are giving it a shot even when they don’t meet the job criteria, they feel free to do the same.Īnother 22% of women indicated their top reason was, “I didn’t think they would hire me since I didn’t meet the qualifications and I didn’t want to put myself out there if I was likely to fail.” These women also believed the on-paper “rules” about who the job was for, but for them, the cost of applying was the risk of failure – rather than the wasted time and energy. For those women who have not been applying for jobs because they believe the stated qualifications must be met, the statistic is a wake-up call that not everyone is playing the game that way. This is why, I think, the Hewlett Packard report finding is so often quoted, so eagerly shared amongst women, and so helpful. This is critical, because it suggests that if the HP finding speaks to a larger trend, women don’t need to try and find that elusive quality, “confidence,” they just need better information about how hiring processes really work. What held them back from applying was not a mistaken perception about themselves, but a mistaken perception about the hiring process. They didn’t see the hiring process as one where advocacy, relationships, or a creative approach to framing one’s expertise could overcome not having the skills and experiences outlined in the job qualifications. ![]() They thought that the required qualifications were…well, required qualifications. ![]() In other words, people who weren’t applying believed they needed the qualifications not to do the job well, but to be hired in the first place. Men and women also gave the same most common reason for not applying, and it was by far the most popular, twice as common as any of the others, with 41% of women and 46% of men indicating it was their top reason: “I didn’t think they would hire me since I didn’t meet the qualifications, and I didn’t want to waste my time and energy.” Only about 10% of women and 12% of men indicated that this was their top reason for not applying. In fact, for both men and women, “I didn’t think I could do the job well” was the least common of all the responses. So I surveyed over a thousand men and women, predominantly American professionals, and asked them, “If you decided not to apply for a job because you didn’t meet all the qualifications, why didn’t you apply?”Īccording to the self-report of the respondents, the barrier to applying was not lack of confidence. I was skeptical, because the times I had decided not to apply for a job because I didn’t meet all the qualifications, faith in myself wasn’t exactly the issue. As one Forbes article put it, “Men are confident about their ability at 60%, but women don’t feel confident until they’ve checked off each item on the list.” The advice: women need to have more faith in themselves. It’s usually invoked as evidence that women need more confidence. The finding comes from a Hewlett Packard internal report, and has been quoted in Lean In, The Confidence Code and dozens of articles. You’ve probably heard the following statistic: Men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "How do I break his curse?" With regards to control, you set the payment, shipping and return details. Kixify: Kixify might not overflow with users, but as a seller you retain more control over the selling process. They have a flat 19.8% sellers fee plus a 2.9% Safe Transfer Fee (which covers payment processing). The most notable difference you’ll see between Tradesy and similar platforms is that they only sell new or gently used shoes. Tradesy: Tradesy resembles an online luxury retail store than an online marketplace that connects sellers with buyers. While their 20% sellers fee might turn some would-be sellers away, their platform boasts a large user base. What makes this platform stand out is their streamlined shipping process. This platform has something unique which is the buyer’s ability to purchase multiple items - bundling - from your store without having to pay extra shipping costs (provided the entire purchase is less than 5 lbs.). PoshMark: Poshmark is making a name for itself in the clothing & accessories resell space. That's not okay.ĮVGA is not the only manufacturer to feel this way. Make no mistake, nVidia made a lot of money over a GPU shortage where they abandoned their long-term market and manufacturing partners to make a quick buck profiteering out the back door. I see this through legal eyes, and see a deal with AMD and Intel as soon as their current exclusive deal with nVidia runs out. You see statements of intent as meaningful promises evidencing long-term commercial intention. If you think EVGA is actually going to stop making any video cards in the future? Having to rebuy them again though, that's a damper for anyone who already invested $80+ on the first two on PSVR1. Overall though, Moss 1 and 2 are must-play games for PSVR1 and 2. They changed the logic of the puzzles by a lot, without fully explaining the new shift, so I was going by the old logic which wasn't solving a later puzzle at all. Moss 2, I have to finish that one as I'm having trouble with some later puzzles. ![]() Then in Moss 1, the puzzles were a challenge but logical. Plus for VR, there is no moving camera, so you won't get motion sickness with this game. Visually, two of the best games on PSVR1 and PSVR2 I bet. Then the ability to look closely at the great detail of each section. What is the best about these games, would be the ability to full control Quill at all times, to move through each frame of the adventure. In PSVR1, I would go to move an object, and have to make several attempts as my blue orb kept drifting away off screen since the PSVR1 separate TV camera was losing sight of the blue controller light at different angles needed to move the object to solve a puzzle for Quill to run through. The Moss games are two of the best things on PSVR1, and with tracking improvements for the orb to control objects separately from Quill's free movement with the controller input, is a major improvement over the often lost floating orb results of bad tracking in PSVR1.
